Before Marlon ever made a wedding ring for anyone else, he spent years studying the ancient world. He studied archaeology, travelled through Central America, and became fascinated by the ways that civilisations used symbols not just to record numbers or dates, but to make meaning. That fascination quietly lives inside some of our most personal rings — the ones we call our Mayan Number collection.

What Makes These Rings Handmade in the Fullest Sense

Every Mayan symbol on every ring is carved or inlaid by Marlon, one at a time, in our Louisville studio. There is no mould, no stamp, no machine cutting these forms. The dots and bars you see on the band are the result of the same hands that have been shaping wood and metal since the early 2000s in a small workshop — first in Nicaragua, now in Kentucky.

The base ring can be made in sterling silver with wood inlay, yellow gold, rose gold, or white gold, depending on your preference. The wood species can be chosen for personal meaning, too — we've had customers request a specific wood because it grows near their hometown, or because it was used to build something meaningful in their family's history.
