When Marlon proposed to Amy, he didn't go to a jewelry store. He made the ring himself — carved from a coyol seed he had gathered in the forests of Nicaragua. It was simple, imperfect, and completely alive with meaning. That was 2004, long before anyone was talking about eco-friendly engagement rings. We just knew we couldn't celebrate a commitment to each other with something that had cost the earth dearly to create.

What Makes an Engagement Ring Truly Eco-Friendly?

The word "sustainable" gets used a lot in jewelry marketing, so let's be specific about what we actually do. Every ring that leaves our studio is made with two core commitments: sustainably sourced natural materials, and 100% recycled metals.

Marlon hand-collects seeds and hardwoods from the forest floor in small quantities — fallen branches, naturally shed seeds, materials the forest has already given freely. Nothing is felled, nothing is strip-mined. The woods he works with most often include Nacascolo, Guayacán, Guapinol, and Bourbon Barrel Oak — each one with its own grain, warmth, and character that no two rings share.

Many of our customers come to us with something specific in mind — a wood from a meaningful place, a family heirloom metal, a symbol they want incorporated.
